Environmental damage caused by Russian attacks on Kharkiv State Biotechnological University reaches more than UAH3,534 billion (~$100 million).

This was reported by Kharkiv State Environmental Inspectorate on Dec.19.

The environmentalists noted that since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army had struck various buildings of the university. The damage has been caused to the following objects:

  • the academic laboratory building; a land area of ​​350 square meters and 500 square meters has been littered with construction waste and fragments of combat missiles and projectiles. The damage assessment reaches UAH1,379,068.125;
  • the university educational building on Myronosytskya street in the city center. ​​180 square meters of land was littered with construction waste and fragments of combat missiles and projectiles. The damage assessment reaches UAH2,481,59,160,000;
  • the students’ dormitory; land resources contaminated with glass, stones, sand, remnants of paper, plastic, and fragments of combat parts of shells on 150 square meters of land. Damage caused — UAH240,117,300;
  • the territory near the educational building on Rizdviana Street; 250 square meters of land has been littered with construction waste and fragments of war missiles and projectiles. Damage caused — UAH339,634,500;
  • the territory near the educational building on Yuvilleinyi pass; 120 square meters of land has been littered with construction waste and fragments of war missiles and projectiles. Damage caused — UAH87 584,400
  • the territory near the university dormitory; construction waste and fragments of combat missiles and projectiles litter ​​900 square meters of land. The damage caused reaches UAH1,238,420,800;
  • the food operations building is damaged and littered, the damage assessment reaches UAH1,727,406.

In November, the environmental damage assessment caused by Russia since Feb. 24 reached $25 million.
