UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Oct. 30 — At about 9:15 a.m., Russian troops attacked a shopping mall, Dafi, in the Kyivskyi district of the city with a jet-powered kamikaze drone, injuring four people and damaging the building of the mall, reported Dafi’s press office and Kharkiv oblast governor Oleh Syniehubov.
Syniehubov added that, in the aftermath of the attack, women aged 54, 41, 49, and 54 got acute stress reactions.
Andrii Kudinov, Dafi’s development director, told Gwara Media’s journalists at the hit site that, although some workers had already been at their workplace at the time of the attack, everyone managed to get to the shelter in time, and no employees were injured.
“It’s a hole of about 24 square feet (2.25 square meters) in size,” Kudinov said, “We’ll spend about a day repairing things.”
This summer, Russian troops began systematically targeting shopping malls all across Ukraine. In Kharkiv, some of them have been completely destroyed. Vladimir Putin, the president of Russia, said that such attacks help Russian forces accomplish their combat tasks.
Because of today’s attack, the shopping mall is temporarily shut down. Dafi’s press office said that the mall will open as soon as it’s allowed.
