UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Sap. 17 — In the morning, Russian forces attacked the Osnovianskyi district of Kharkiv with a drone, hitting Epicenter shopping mall, said Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv oblast.
Gwara Media journalists were at the impact site to document the consequences of the Russian attack.
On Aug. 27, Russian forces attacked this shopping mall with a jet-powered drone, killing one and injuring four people.
There were no serious casualties during today’s attack. One 65-year-old woman, a worker of Epicenter, asked for medical help because of an acute stress reaction. She was in the shelter when the Russian drone hit.
According to Syniehubov, a fire has broken out in the shopping mall building.
The Kharkiv regional Prosecutor’s Office said that Russians used a jet-powered drone to attack Epicenter.
According to Gwara journalists, there were electricity problems at the shopping center following the attack.
This year, Russia has used a tactic of targeting Ukrainian shopping malls and civilian infrastructure. On Aug. 22, Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, said that such attacks help Russian forces accomplish their combat tasks.
