Egyptian authorities have allowed foreigners to leave the Gaza Strip.

Therefore, Ukraine has already started the preparatory stage of evacuation of Ukrainians. This was announced by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Oleh Nikolenko.

“Against the backdrop of the Egyptian authorities’ decision to allow foreigners to leave the Gaza Strip through the Rafah checkpoint, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, other involved agencies, and Ukrainian embassies in the region have begun the preparatory stage of evacuating Ukrainians,” he said.

Currently, there are 358 Ukrainians in the Gaza Strip who want to leave. These are mostly women and children. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent an official request to the parties involved to issue permits to leave the Palestinian enclave and transit through Egyptian territory. The border crossing is now expected to be approved.

Also, according to Mr. Nikolenko, the documents for Ukrainians who do not have valid travel documents are ready, the necessary transportation has been booked, and a group of diplomats has been formed to arrive at the border with Gaza to help our citizens on the spot.

According to the Egyptian side, foreigners can leave the Gaza Strip alphabetically, according to their citizenship.
