UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Oct. 2 — Russian forces attacked the Slobidskyi and Nemushlianskyi districts of Kharkiv with three glide bombs, killing two and injuring 36 people, Oleh Syniehubov, the governor, said.
Gwara Media journalists worked at impact sites to document the aftermath of the Russian attack.
According to Syniehubov, the attack killed two women aged 66 and 80.
Medics transported 10 injured people to hospitals. Among the injured were two children. A 10-year-old boy got injured by glass that was blown out by the explosion. A 15-year-old girl experienced an acute stress reaction. The children did not require hospitalization.
Andrii, a man who lives in the Slobidskyi district, was working in the shop when the Russian troops attacked — he was consulting a client. They went deep in the building to hide.
“We heard a whistle, one explosion, then a second, and everything started falling apart. The third one was the most powerful — everything was blown away. No one was killed (here). It’s a miracle,” Andrii said.
Oleksandr from the Nemyshlianskyi district was in the kitchen of his home during the explosion. His wife was in the next room. They both have head injuries. They refused hospitalization because they are clearing the debris of their home on their own.
In the Nemyshlianskyi district, one of the Russian glide bombs directly hit the house. Officials reported that there were people trapped under the rubble, but they did not specify whether the women who were killed were found there.
Syniehubov said that the Russian attack damaged around 20 houses, office buildings, an educational institution, and cars in both districts.
