UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct. 2 — Russian forces recently conducted an infiltration mission near Velykyi Burluk settlement in the eastern Kharkiv oblast, the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) said in its assessment.

Velykyi Burluk is a settlement located 68 kilometers (~42 miles) northeast of Kharkiv, in the Burluk river valley. Russian forces have renewed their assault operations in the area since July.

According to analysts, Russian forces conducted a flag-raising mission in the central Vilkhuvatka village, northeast of Velykyi Burluk.

Earlier, media Militarnyi reported that the assault CODE 9.2 regiment said that Ukrainian tanks attacked Russian positions near Vilkhuvatka.

Also, the ISW, citing the Russian Ministry of Defense, said that Russians seized Nesterne and Rublene villages near Velykyi Burluk.

According to Russian claims, they made a small encirclement of Ukrainian forces northeast of Velykyi Burluk, but ISW has not observed evidence of that.
