UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 8 — Ukrainian forces evacuated four women from Kupiansk, a city east of the Kharkiv oblast, said Andrii Kanashevych, the head of the Kupiansk district military administration.

Local authorities recorded the most intensive evacuation activity in the Kupiansk district in the Kharkiv oblast. In just two days in April, almost 200 people were evacuated from there.

Kanashevych said women left the city on their own, escorted by the military, and were then evacuated to a safer location.

Since April, Russian troops have renewed assaults on both banks of the Oskil river which flows through Kupiansk.
