Jun. 25 — Ukrainian long-range drones hit two major oil refineries in the Russian city of Ufa and an oil depot in the Krasnodar region, reported Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine.

Zelenskyy confirmed both successful operations, saying that the Armed Forces struck the Poltavska oil depot in the Krasnodar region, 300 kilometers (186 miles) from the frontline. At the same time, the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) targeted the two Ufa oil refineries, located approximately 1,400 kilometers (870 miles) from the Ukrainian border. He said that these long-range strikes are a direct response to Russian aggression, aimed at forcing Moscow into genuine diplomacy to end the war rather than trying to buy time.

In the Krasnodar region, Ukrainian drones hit the Poltavska oil depot, a regional important facility that supplies fuel to parts of the region and the Republic of Adygea. The attack caused a fire and damaged three out of 28 tanks, at least one of which contained fuel. The traffic on the road has been temporarily closed.

The latest Ukrainian attacks on the Ufa oil refineries targeted two of the three plants in the northern part of the city: Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim and Bashneft-Novoil, both owned by Bashneft, a subsidiary of Russia’s state-owned oil giant Rosneft.

The ASTRA, a Russian independent news Telegram channel, also shared videos from Ufa residents that show drones flying over the city. These drones closely resemble Ukraine’s homegrown “Liutyi” (“Fierce” in Ukrainian) long-range kamikaze drones, which have been frequently used in deep-strike operations against Russian energy infrastructure, reported Militarnyi, a Ukrainian defense media outlet.

Radiy Khabirov, the head of the Republic of Bashkortostan, claimed that air defenses and corporate security systems repelled the attack, reporting no disruption to production. “Drone debris fell in the industrial zone. No one was injured, and the enterprises are operating normally,” Khabirov commented.

Previously, on Apr. 2, Ukrainian drones also attacked Bashneft-Novoil oil refinery, causing a massive fire of the CDU-5 distillation unit, which accounts for around 28% of the facility’s total capacity, Reuters reported.
