UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 27 — Over the past two months, Russian troops have doubled their assaults in the northern part of the Kharkiv oblast, said Serhii Lavrentiev, a drone operator of the Forpost brigade, to ArmyInform.
Lavrentiev said that it is a usual practice for Russians. Russian troops are less active in winter and beginning of spring because there is no place to hide, and Ukrainian drone operators easily detect their movements. Usually, he added, Russians renew active assaults at the end of March.
“This is an infiltration tactic. Small groups are trying to get forward and stay in safe locations between our positions. Once they have enough people, they launch an assault,” said Lavrentiev.
Lavrentiev added that this tactic has a weak point. Russians need time to gather troops, which makes it easier for Ukrainian operators to notice their location and destroy them.
Lavrentiev also said that Russians continue to attack Ukrainian logistics with drones. Earlier, he said they expanded the area for using first person view drones on fiber-optic cables in the Kharkiv oblast.
