RUSSIA, ROSTOV OBLAST, Aug. 27 — Ukrainian drones damaged a radar station, Nebo-U (“Sky-U” in translation), that protected the Millerovo air base in Rostov oblast, reported the 429th separate brigade of unmanned systems called Achilles. Achilles estimated that the radar station cost about $100 million.
Russians use Millerovo air base, located about 105 miles from the zero line of the Russia-Ukraine war, to launch Shahed attack drones and other drones to attack Ukrainian cities in eastern, central, and northern regions of Ukraine.
Hitting Nebo-U was a part of the systematic work of establishing fire control over Millerovo airbase—Achilles says they’re going to keep attacking the objects Russia uses for airstrikes on Ukraine.
