UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Aug. 28 — At about 5:00 p.m., Russians launched an airstrike on a gas station in the Slobidskyi district of Kharkiv, reported the Kharkiv regional prosecutor’s office. A 55-year-old woman was killed in a strike, and four men were injured.
Preliminary assessment shows that the Russian army used Geran-4, a jet-powered analog of Shahed, to strike the city.
Apart from the gas station, the attack damaged a car. The prosecutor’s office opened a pre-trial investigation into the Russian war crime that caused the death of a person.
Russia frequently targets gas stations in Kharkiv, trying to incite panic and cause gas shortages. Over half of the strikes on gas stations have been conducted with FPV drones.
Statistics provided by the city mayor, Ihor Terekhov, show that the Russians hit Kharkiv with FPVs 18 times in June and 51 times in July.
