The discussion program of the first parliamentary summit of the Crimea Platform started in Zagreb.
According to the organizers, the purpose of the event is “to highlight important issues related to the occupied Crimean Peninsula, namely: the prospects of bringing Russia and Russian officials to justice for international crimes committed in the occupied Crimea, the issue of the future reintegration of Crimea after de-occupation, the Croatian experience of reintegration of territories and the possibility of its application in the Ukrainian realities in the future”.
“Ukrainian officials and experts, as well as representatives of Croatian civil society and former government officials with relevant experience, will take part in the discussion of these complex topics,” the statement said.
The plenary session of the Platform parliamentary summit starts tomorrow, October 25.
The second summit of the Crimea Platform took place on August 23, 2022 online with the participation of 59 countries and international organizations.
Ukraine has lost at least $118 billion since Russia annexed its southern Crimea region in 2014 and the price tag will be much higher when Kyiv includes the value of possible energy reserves in the Black Sea.
