UKRAINE, Nov 21 –  President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that Russia had fired an intercontinental ballistic missile at Ukraine for the first time. He emphasized that Russia uses the country as a training ground.

On the eve of the attack, there was information about the possibility of a strike on Ukraine with an RS-26 Rubizh missile. The embassies of the United States, Spain, Italy, and Greece in Ukraine warned that there was a risk of a massive Russian air attack on Ukraine and temporarily closed their diplomatic missions. On November 21, the Ukrainian Air Force reported that Russians had fired an intercontinental ballistic missile at Dnipro.

“Today, there was a new Russian missile. It has all the characteristics of an intercontinental ballistic missile. Expert examinations are underway. It is obvious that Putin uses Ukraine as a testing ground. Putin is afraid when there is just a normal life next to him,” Zelenskyy said.

The targets of the Russian attack were enterprises and critical infrastructure.

According to the head of the Dnipro Regional Military Administration, Serhii Lysak, the attack damaged an industrial enterprise and started two fires in the city. In addition, the mayor of Dnipro, Borys Filatov, added that the Russian attack damaged a rehabilitation center for people with disabilities. The boiler room was destroyed, and windows were smashed in the building of the rehabilitation center.

The RS-26 Rubizh is a Russian project of a strategic ground-launched missile system with an intercontinental ballistic missile. The missile can be launched at a range of 1,300-3,700 miles.
