UKRAINE, Sep. 1 — Trains from and to Kharkiv are being delayed, reports Ukrainian Railway (UR) on its website. Delays are connected to long air raids alerts and Russian shelling of Ukrainian railways’ objects.
As of 1:33 p.m., the biggest delays are:
- Train №2 — Kharkiv–Lviv — delayed for 7 hours 10 minutes.
- Train №9 — Chelm–Kharkiv — delayed for 8 hours 39 minutes.
- Train №1 — Rakhiv–Kharkiv — delayed for 6 hours 20 minutes.
People can track other delays of the train coursing through Ukraine on Ukrainian Railways’ website.
Today, Ukrainian railways reported that, overnight, six of their colleagues were killed in a Russian ballistic attack on Kyiv and the Kyiv region. They added that they still put out fires at the impact sites.
During Aug. 10-19, Ukrainian railways transferred 82,9 thousand passengers between Kyiv and Kharkiv, and over this period, up to 893 thousand passengers in total traveled by UR’s trains. Kharkiv was one of the top three destinations for travelers.
In July, Ukrainian railways told Gwara that the company plans to improve defenses against Russian attacks around railway stations in frontline regions under the initiative of the local military administration, though it didn’t specify how.
