UKRAINE, SUMY OBLAST, Sep. 10 — Two women aged 60 and 79 years old died in the hospital after a Russian attack on a passenger train in the Sumy oblast, said Oleh Hryhorov, governor of the Sumy oblast.

According to the Sumy regional Prosecutor’s Office, on Sep. 8, Russian forces attacked a train from Vyry, Sumy oblast, to Liubotyn, Kharkiv oblast, on the territory of the railway station in the Sumy district. They used three drones to attack the train.

That day, the attack injured at least nine people and caused a fire on a diesel locomotive and one of the train cars.

Russian troops continue to attack Ukraine’s railway infrastructure. On Sep. 9, a Russian drone hit a train in a railway station near Iskra village in the Izium district in eastern Kharkiv oblast. The attack injured eight people.
