UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Oct. 27 — On Oct. 26, Russian forces attacked the Novobavarskyi district of Kharkiv with a Tornado-S multiple rocket launcher. The attack killed two and injured two people, including a 17-year-old girl, the Kharkiv regional Prosecutor’s Office said.
Gwara Media journalists were at the impact site to document the consequences of the Russian attack.
A woman was standing near the destroyed garage. She didn’t tell her name, but shared that one of the missiles hit the garage directly while her neighbor was parking his car in it. “Only a hole remained from the garage,” she said.
“The explosion blew apart his car. The man himself was thrown out and died immediately. It’s a tragedy,” the woman said.
Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the Kharkiv oblast, said that the Russian attack damaged 10 garages, four houses, four apartment buildings, and a building of a child care institution.
Nataliia Shmeliova, the head of the damaged child care institution, told Gwara that the explosion blew out over 70 windows and 10 doors in the building. There were no children or workers there at the time of the attack.
“Only the security guy was on the territory, but fortunately, he’s okay,” Nataliia said.
Over the past day, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv and 12 settlements in the region, Syniehubov said.
He added that Russian attacks killed a woman and injured a man in the Kupiansk district and injured two men and a woman in the Kharkiv district.
