UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Sep. 18 — In the morning, a Russian drone attacked a train in the Lypkuvativka railway station in the Kharkiv oblast, killing one and injuring eight people, the Kharkiv regional Prosecutor’s Office said.
According to prosecutors, the attack killed a 30-year-old man and injured people got burns and cut wounds.
Russians used a Geran-4 drone to attack the train, prosecutors added.
In 2026, the Russians intensified their attacks on Ukraine’s railway infrastructure. They conducted 145 attacks on railway infrastructure in the Kharkiv oblast during this period.
Andrii Sybiha, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, asked partner countries to immediately send locomotives to Ukraine. Since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion, Russian attacks damaged over 500 locomotives. More than half of them were damaged this year alone, the Center for Transport Strategies said.
