Sep. 16 —  Polish military engineers build reinforcing checkpoints on the border with Ukraine after Russian strikes on border infrastructure, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, the Minister of National Defense of Poland, reported.

On Sep. 13, Russian drones hit a truck near the Dorohusk-Jagodzin border crossing. This is the border crossing with Poland that has the highest throughput capacity. The Russians also attacked a passenger train traveling from Kyiv to Warsaw.

The Polish Armed Forces General Staff said that observation and security posts are being set up near Dorohusk, Medyka, and Korchova checkpoints.

For construction, the military uses HESCO structures, which are foldable mesh containers that are filled with sand or soil. These structures are designed for border guards to conduct monitoring and carry out their duties. They are not shelters for all people present at border crossing points during an air raid alert.

Earlier, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine said that recent Russian airstrikes at Rivne, Lviv oblast, and Volyn region were enabled from the territory of Belarus.
