UKRAINE, KHARKIV REGION, Sep. 1 — Russian troops hit a car driving on the Zolochiv-Derhachi highway with a first-person view (FPV) drone at around 9:00 a.m. in the morning, a head of Zolochiv military administration Viktor Kovalenko told Gwara Media. 

Two people were in the car: one was killed by the drone strike, and the other got burns on 80% of his body. Born in 1967, the injured man was hospitalized in severe condition. The man who was killed was born in 1971. Both of the men were Kharkiv locals. 

Zolochiv-Derhachi highway is part of the road that used to connect Kharkiv with Belgorod oblast in Russia through the northwestern Kharkiv region. Right now, it’s a logistics routesthat supplies border towns and villages, frequently attacked by Russian drones as they target Kyiv’s transport infrastructure. 

Zolochiv, a city in the northwest of the Kharkiv region located about 12 miles from the state border, is also often targeted by Russia. Just yesterday, on Aug. 31, a Russian FPV hit another car driving through the settlement: no severe injuries have been reported, but children who were in the vehicle got acute stress reactions.
