UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Sep. 14 — Russians launched airstrikes at 112 gas stations just in Kharkiv oblast over the last summer, according to Kharkiv regional police’s response to Gwara Media’s official inquiry. 

In June, Russia attacked 31 gas stations, in July, they hit 51 gas stations, and in August, they attacked another 51. In Kharkiv, Russia attacked 32 gas stations over the summer. 

Last week, on Sep. 8, Russian Italmas drones hit a gas station in the Kyivskyi district of Kharkiv, injuring two men. 

This spring, the Russians began actively attacking gas stations in Kharkiv and the region. They have become one of the primary targets of Russian FPV drones ‘hunting’ in Kharkiv — one such attack with a double-tap strike afterward injured six people. During one week in July, according to authorities, more than half of the drones attacking the city targeted transport and fuel infrastructure.  

On Aug. 18, Kharkiv officials said the system for individual alerts to the owners of the local gas stations is being tested. Some of the gas stations used anti-drone nets to protect their business.
