Jul. 27 — Ukrainian forces intensify their air attacks on gas stations in the Belgorod and Kursk regions of Russia, Agenstvo, Russian independent online media reported in their analysis.

Relying on the data from local officials and other media, Agenstvo said that Ukrainian forces attacked at least 25 gas stations since the beginning of the week in the Kursk and Belgorod regions. Journalists said this is the highest number since the beginning of the summer.

In July alone, Ukrainian forces attacked gas stations 43 times in the Belgorod oblast and eight times in the Kursk oblast, compared to 13 attacks on gas stations in both regions in June. 

Kyiv’s attacks on gas stations in Kursk and Belgorod regions might be a response to the Russian strikes on Ukraine’s fuel facilities, Russian military analysts said. Since June, Russia has been actively targeting gas stations in Ukraine’s frontline regions.

On Jul. 17, Ukrainian intelligence reported that Russian forces received orders to intensify drone attacks on civilian infrastructure in frontline areas, including gas stations.

Ukrainian researchers reported that Russia attacked at least 40 gas stations in the Kharkiv oblast between March 2024 and June 2026. Recording only officially confirmed cases, they said that the actual extent of damage may be “significantly greater.”
