Jul. 24 — Ukrainian forces carried out an air attack on the defense plant in the Russian city of Kirov, reported Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine.

Denys Shtilerman, co-founder of the Fire Point defense company, corroborates Zelenskyy’s statement regarding a missile attack in Kirov. He said that Ukrainian forces attacked Avitek, a Russian military-industrial company, using an FP-5 Flamingo missile in the attack, which Fire Point produced.

Avitek is located about 1200 kilometers (745 miles) from the Ukrainian border. According to Ukrainian intelligence, the facility specializes in the production of anti-aircraft missiles, ejection seats, and aviation systems.

The company also provides individual engine components for the Tor surface-to-air missile system and Kh-101 and Kh-59M2/Kh-59M2A missiles.

Zelenskyy said that the Ukrainian operation targeting Russian logistics is ongoing. According to him, it needs to disrupt supplies of drone components, navigation equipment, and other military gear that Russian forces use to invade Ukraine.
