The First Lady of Ukraine, Olena Zelenska, discussed the participation of the State of Qatar in the restoration of Kharkiv Oblast, reported the head of Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov on July 31.

Olena Zelenska discussed the participation of the State of Qatar in the restoration of Kharkiv Oblast with the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, as part of his visit to Ukraine. 

“I am sure we will rebuild Kharkiv Oblast with joint efforts,” noted Syniehubov.

Olena Zelenska Foundation has allocated $600,000 to repair the hospital building and equip four operating rooms. However, more funds must be accumulated to restore the hospital’s work. Currently, the hospital in Izium is operating at only 10% of its capacity.

Izium Central City Hospital is the largest medical institution in Kharkiv Oblast. It was severely damaged by Russian occupiers. About 70% of the facility’s valuable medical equipment was destroyed or stolen by the invaders.

Today, the hospital, which served about 150,000 people before the war, can only work at 10% of its capacity. “The rapid renewal of the full operation of this institution is essential for restoring access to high-quality medical care for the residents of the liberated Izium,” notes Syniehubov.
