UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug. 18 — In the early morning, Russian forces attacked Izium, a city in eastern Kharkiv oblast, with artillery strikes. The attack injured five people, including a nine-year-old child, said the Kharkiv regional police.
The Izium military administration said that the attack damaged nearly 20 houses.
Over the past day, Russian forces also attacked Kharkiv and 11 settlements in the region with a missile, two glide bombs, artillery, and 80 drones of different types, said Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the Kharkiv oblast.
In the Izium district, Russian forces attacked Verbivka village, destroying and damaging houses.
In the Bohodukhiv district, a Russian drone hit a civilian car in the Zolochuv settlement, injuring a 28-year-old man.
In Kharkiv, Russian forces damaged a gas station in the Industrialnyi district. No casualties were reported.
Over the Kharkiv oblast, Russian attacks damaged storage buildings in the Bohodukhiv district, an outbuilding in the Kharkiv district, a house in the Vovchansk district, and a gas station in the Lozova district.
