RUSSIA, ORSK, Aug. 11 — In the night, Ukrainian forces attacked Orsknefteorgsintez, one of the biggest oil refinery plants in the Orenburg oblast, Russia, said the General Staff of the Ukrainian forces.

The plant is located in Orsk, more than 1,300 kilometers (808 miles) from the Ukrainian border.

Militarnyi, the Ukrainian defense military outlet, did an OSINT analysis of the strike and said that the drones damaged a diesel fuel hydrotreating unit or a hydrocracking complex. Journalists documented at least two seats of fire.

The refinery has a capacity of processing about 6 million tons of oil per year. The facility produces automotive gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, fuel oil, bitumen, and other oil products.

According to Militarnyi, Ukrainian drones had previously attacked Orsknefteorgsintez in the fall of 2025 and in April 2026.

On Aug. 10, Ukrainian Special Operations Forces attacked the ZapSibNeftekhim in the Tumen oblast in Russia, more than 2,200 kilometers (~1,370 miles) from the border with Ukraine.
