UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug. 11  — Since the beginning of August, Russian troops have conducted 354 attacks on Kharkiv and the region. The attacks killed 21 and injured 150 people, including six children, said Petro Tokar, head of the Kharkiv regional police, during an interview with Suspilne, Ukrainian media.

The police are reporting an increase in the intensity of Russian attacks in the region. Tokar said that in July of this year, the intensity of shelling was 3.4% higher than during the same period last year.

Now, Russians are using guided aerial bombs, high-precision missiles, including the Banderol missile, and attack drones such as the Geran-2, Geran-3, Geran-4, Molniya, and Lancet on a massive scale.

Tokar said that since May of this year, when the Russians first used a Banderol missile to attack Bezliudivka settlement near Kharkiv, local police have recorded 60 cases of attacks with this missile. And 15 of those attacks targeted Kharkiv.

Also, the police head said that the Russians are using first-person-view (FPV) drones on fiber-optic cables regularly to attack specialized equipment and civilian transport. In July, the Kharkiv Prosecutor’s Office reported that a fiber-optic FPV drone had attacked a gas station in Kharkiv, damaging a civilian car and injuring the people inside it.

Since early August, the Russians have been attacking energy objects, railway infrastructure, and the gas transmission and production systems in the Kharkiv region. Also, theу are attacking civilian infrastructure, including houses, apartment buildings, storage buildings, medical institutions, and logistics companies, Tokar added.
