UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct. 7 — In 2026, Russian attacks on Kharkiv oblast killed 459 people, including 11 children, Petro Tokar, head of the Kharkiv regional police, told Suspilne, Ukrainian media.

During this year, Russian troops also injured 2,930 people, including 230 children, Tokar added.

“Russians do not target military objects. They attack at random and try to make life impossible for the civilian people,” Tokar said.

In October, Russian attacks killed 20 and injured 183 people living in Kharkiv oblast, including nine children.

On Oct. 5, Russian troops hit Kharkiv’s Slobidskyi district with three glide bombs, killing 6 and injuring 59 people.
