UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug. 7 — Ukrainian drone operators expanded the kill zone to 20 kilometers (12 miles) deep into the Russian-occupied territories on Kupiansk axis in Kharkiv oblast, said Anastasia Khaletska, the head of the communications department of the 4th separate heavy mechanized brigade, to ArmyInform.
According to Khaletska, the kill zone for Russian troops previously extended 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) from the zero line, but it can reach 25 kilometers (15.5 miles).
Khaletska added that expanding the kill zone is the main priority for the brigade and claimed that Russian troops achieved zero objectives in their summer campaign on the Kupiansk axis.
On the Kupiansk axis, Russians are attempting to push deeper into the Kharkiv oblast and assist their main efforts on occupying the rest of the Donetsk region. Located in the eastern part of the region, many towns and villages of Kupiansk district became completely uninhabitable because of Russian attacks.
Recently, local authorities expanded the mandatory evacuation zone there.
