Nov. 5 — Polish border guards detained six people who are suspected of spying for Russia and illegally supplying components for the production of Russian weapons, the National Public Prosecutor’s Office of Poland said.

The group allegedly worked in Poland, Lithuania, and Russia at least from June 2023 to December 2025. They delivered ammunition components — including cartridge cases and shells — to the Kaliningrad oblast in Russia through Lithuania.

Polish prosecutors said that the group members purchased goods through online stores and arranged for their transportation in cars with hidden compartments.

The total cost of the ammunition components purchased and illegally exported to Russia exceeded 2 million Polish zlotys (~$492,169), the investigation said.

From Oct. 21 to Nov. 2, Poland’s Internal Security Agency (ABW) conducted searches at 21 locations as part of the arrest operation.

According to Tomasz Siemoniak, a coordinator of Polish secret services, there were five Polish citizens from 25 to 52 years old and a 37-year-old Russian woman among the detained people.

Poland has charged them with espionage and detained four of the group, including a Russian woman, for three months. The other two were subject to preventive measures that did not involve custody.

Siemoniak said that nearly 100 people have been suspected of espionage and sabotage in Poland since 2024.
