UKRAINE, May 26 — GLEFA and Culver Aerospace, two Ukrainian defense technology companies, presented a new Shahed-type kamikaze drone called Behemot with a flight range of more than 300 kilometers (186 miles) and two warheads, reported Militarnyi, a Ukrainian military media.

One of the kamikaze drone’s key features is its ability to fly at low altitudes, making it more difficult for air defense systems to detect and intercept.

Militarnyi reported that the Behemot carries a 40-kilogram (88-pound) warhead in the nose and another 35-kilogram (77-pound) warhead in the rear. The drone measures 2.28 meters (7.5 feet) in wingspan, 2.2 meters (7.2 feet) in length, and 0.5 meters (1.6 feet) in height.

Militarnyi also reported that the drone has already entered mass production and Ukraine’s Defense Forces are already using it. It supports fully autonomous, semi-automatic, and first point of view (FPV) control modes.

On Jan. 16, Ihor Fedirko, CEO at Ukrainian Council of Defense Industry (UCDI), said that Ukraine tripled drone production in 2025, compared to 2024. He also expects this trend to continue in 2026.

Fedirko also added that last year the need for long-range strikes increased dramatically, so production of deep-strike and middle-strike drones in Ukraine became systemic.
