UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug. 24 — On Aug. 23, Russian forces attacked the railway station in the village of Lymanivka in Lozova community, located in southern Kharkiv oblast, killing two women and injuring five people, including an 11-year-old girl, reported Serhii Zelenskyy, the mayor of Lozova. 

According to Zelenskyy, medics provide treatment to injured people.  

He also reported on another attack, in which Russians targeted the railway station in Orlivka in the Lozova community, injuring a 44-year-old man. 

“Occupiers attack our post terminals, destroy schools, clubs, houses, and transport infrastructure, attempting to spread panic,” Zelenskyy said.

Lozova’s mayor added that Russian troops intensified their airstrikes ahead of Ukraine’s Independence Day.

Over the past day, Russian forces also launched airstrikes on Kharkiv and 14 settlements of the region, said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the Kharkiv region. 

Syniehubov said that Russians used one missile and 88 kamikaze drones of different types in their attack on the region. They targeted gas stations, power grids, railway infrastructure, houses and apartment buildings across the region. 

In total, on Aug. 23, Russian forces killed five people and injured 17.
