UKRAINE, DEC 27 — On the Kupiansk axis, the Ukrainian army fought off nine Russian attacks near Synkivka and east of Ivanivka in Kharkiv Oblast. 

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on this in their morning briefing. 

In the Slobozhanskyi direction, the Russian army maintains a military presence in borderlands, conducts diversions to hold Ukrainian troops to the location, and prevents them from relocating to other directions. They also continue to build up mine-explosive barriers along the border in Belgorod Oblast.

Russia also shelled 130 settlements of Chernihiv, Sumy, Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, and Mykolaiv oblasts with artillery fire.
