UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, May 19 — Russian forces actively use attack and intelligence drones on the Kupiansk axis, said Dmytro Salnykov, the commander of the attack drones company of the 115th Mechanized Brigade, to Suspilne News.

According to Salnykov, Ukrainian drone operators keep Russian assault groups at a distance from Ukrainian infantry because Russians actively use drones, not artillery, for attacks.

At the same time, Russians use Supercam and ZALA intelligence drones to monitor Ukrainian positions.

Salnykov said that Russians have enough human resources, so they use motorcycles to drive up to the position, then drop off one or two people and continue on foot.

“They’re about seven kilometers away. They don’t get very close. And if we spot them, we will immediately strike with FPV drones,” said Salnykov.

Earlier, Ukrainian forces reported about Russian attempts to break through the border in northern Kharkiv oblast.
