UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Apr. 28 — Russian forces continue to use drones and conduct assaults with small groups instead of conducting mechanized assaults on the Kupiansk axis, said Vitalii Hnylko, the spokesperson of the 77th Airmobile Brigade “Naddnipryanska,” during the national telethon.

Hnylko noted that Russian forces are suffering losses and not achieving rapid results, but continue to look for opportunities to advance:

“They use motorized vehicles to move along the front lines. But this is a situation in which Russians cannot achieve a quick result,” said Hnylko.

According to Hnylko, Russian units adapt to current combat conditions — they are changing their routes and operating in small groups to tire out the Ukrainian forces.

Hnylko added Russians also focus on reconnoitering Ukrainian positions, using drones, and conducting artillery and air attacks, said the military.

Earlier, Viktor Trekhubov, a spokesperson for the group of forces responsible for Kharkiv oblast, said that Russian troops renewed assaults on both banks of the Oskil river on the Kupiansk axis to enter the city from the north again.
