UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jun. 2 — Over the day, Russian forces launched more than 22 Shahed kamikaze drones and two ballistic missiles at Kharkiv, injuring at least 22 people, said Ihor Terekhov, the city’s mayor.
In total, Russia attacked Ukraine with 656 kamikaze drones and 73 missiles, killing nine people in the city of Dnipro and four in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital. Dozens more people, including children, were injured across the country.
Gwara journalists reported that the attack on Kharkiv was still ongoing as of 12:00 p.m., having lasted nearly 11 hours.
Mayor Terekhov, said that this night the Russian attack damaged apartment buildings, schools, offices, power grids, and vehicles across the city.
“Since the night, Kharkiv’s municipal workers have been dealing with the aftermath of the Russian attack,” Terekhov said.
