RUSSIA, SOCHI, Sep. 3 — In the morning, Ukrainian sea drones attacked a port in Sochi, Russia, reported Militarnyi, a Ukrainian defense media outlet, citing the monitor Telegram channel Exilnova+.

Later, the Ukrainian Navy’s press service confirmed the attack on Sochi and said that Ukrainian sea drones had hit a Russian ship called NEFRIT.

NEFRIT is a multipurpose vessel that supports oil and gas operations. It has serviced offshore facilities, transported cargo and personnel, and carried out underwater technical work.

The Ukrainian Navy said that NEFRIT had performed missions supporting Russia’s war economy. The Ukrainian military described this attack as “a strike against the logistics and specialized capabilities of Russia’s military-economic infrastructure.”

Militarnyi also reported that Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency imposed temporarily restricted arrivals and departures at the airports in Sochi and Gelendzhik “to ensure flight safety.”
