On Easter, April 16, the enemy continued shelling the civilian population of the border and front-line towns and villages of Kharkiv Oblast.

Settlements of Kharkiv, Kupiansk, Chuhuiv, and Izium districts were under enemy fire.

Kharkiv Regional Military Administration: 3 civilians injured, 21 houses damaged

  • At least 11 private residential buildings were damaged in Vovchansk in the Chuhuiv district on April 16. The shelling caused fires.
  • In the village of Kurylivka in the Kupiansk district, a private household was damaged by mortar attacks on April 16.
  • A private residential building was destroyed due to the shelling of the village of Pershotravneve in the Izium district on April 16.
  • Two private houses were damaged by enemy fire in the village of Petropavlivka in the Kupiansk district. A car and a tractor were destroyed. 
  • The pyrotechnic units of the State Emergency Service neutralized 363 explosive objects on April 14-17.
  • As a result of shelling in Vovchansk on April 14, a medical facility was damaged. A 62-year-old employee was injured and hospitalized. The building of the institution suffered significant destruction. Moreover, five private residential buildings were damaged.
  • A 44-year-old electrician was injured during restoration works by stepping on a mine in the Izium district on April 14.
  • A 29-year-old woman was injured by an enemy explosive device in the market in Izium on April 14.

General Staff: Russians shelled 12 settlements in Kharkiv Oblast on Easter

  • On April 16, the Russian army shelled at least 12 settlements in Kharkiv Oblast.
  • On the Kupiansk axis, the Russian army mined the territories around four settlements.

Kharkiv Mayor:

Kharkiv reconstruction “depends not only on us but also on the funds we will use, the possibilities of the budget. We count on two or three years till the complete reconstruction of the city,” said Ihor Terekhov on April 15.

Earlier: A 47-year-old volunteer was injured at Dvorichna village in Kharkiv Oblast due to shelling. The man was coming to pick up people when his car came under fire. He underwent surgery and is now in critical condition.
