UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Apr. 15 — Kharkiv oblast authorities decided to expand the mandatory evacuation area in the Kupiansk district, including the Shevchenkove and Velykyi Burluk communities, said Oleh Syniehubov, the governor of the Kharkiv oblast.
In the Shevchenkove community, 30 kilometers (~19 miles) from Kupiansk, east of Kharkiv oblast, local government plans to evacuate 756 adults and 74 children from 12 settlements, said the governor.
Also, Syniehubov said that the mandatory evacuation would be expanded to families with children in 11 settlements of the Velykyi Burluk community, north of the Kupiansk district. There are still 34 families with 54 children.
Also, on Mar. 2, the law that allows a forced evacuation of children from the areas threatened by Russia’s war without parents’ consent came into effect.
Local authorities have recorded three cases of children being forcibly removed from their families and evacuated from the Kupiansk district, east of the Kharkiv region.
