May 5 — Canada allocated an additional €12,4 million to the Ukraine Energy Support Fund so that the country’s overall contribution to the fund amounts to over €57 million, reported Ukraine’s Ministry of Energy.

This aid will be distributed to meet the high-priority needs of energy companies and to restore critical infrastructure across Ukraine as it prepares for the next heating season, the Ministry wrote.

Since 2022, the Ukraine Energy Support Fund has collaborated with international partners to react quickly to Russian attacks on the energy system and restore and strengthen it.

Around 30% of the funds invested have been contributed since November 2025, when Russia launched its recent campaign to destroy Ukraine’s power grid.
