United24 global initiative has also opened an account for humanitarian demining.

Ukraine will receive $244 million from partners for demining by the end of 2023, and the United States agrees to allocate an additional $84 million to support a private operator that will be engaged in demining in the liberated territories. This was reported by the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Svyrydenko in an interview with Ukrinform.

The minister also reminded that the issue of demining was discussed at the recent International Conference on the Restoration of Ukraine. The United States, the EU, Japan, Canada, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands announced the largest amounts of aid – more than 30 countries in total.

Ukraine, in turn, has opened a particular account on the United24 platform, which will be used for humanitarian demining. The fundraising has just begun but has already accumulated more than UAH 17 million / $461,081. These funds will be used to purchase machinery and equipment.

“When the Ministry of Economy started working in this area in March, there were only 12 demining vehicles in Ukraine. Now there are 26 of them. By the end of the year, there will be at least 60 units of such equipment. In total, Ukraine will receive at least 10 demining machines manufactured by Dok-ING and 10 machines from Global Clearance Solutions, almost 200 pyrotechnic machines, more than 600 metal detectors, 50 demining machines, individual demining kits, explosive protective suits, quadcopters, robotic systems for the disposal of ammunition, etc. by the end of 2023,” Svyrydenko said.
