Jun. 2 — Matthias Schmale, UN Humanitarian Coordinator in Ukraine, condemned Russian large-scale combined attack on Ukraine on Jun. 2, describing it as the third major Russian assault in the past three weeks.
“Instead of enjoying the start of the school summer break, children and their families spent the night in underground shelters, woken up by air raid sirens, explosions and uncertainty,” Schamale said
Tonight, Russia attacked Ukraine with 656 kamikaze drones and 73 missiles, killing nine people in the city of Dnipro and four in Kyiv, the Ukrainian capital. Dozens more people, including children, were injured across the country.
According to the UN, Russian attacks damaged and destroyed apartment buildings, hospitals, and shops.
Russian forces launched more than 22 Shahed kamikaze drones and two ballistic missiles at Kharkiv, injuring at least 22 people, said Ihor Terekhov, the city’s mayor.
