UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct. 6 — During a combat mission, Ukrainian military evacuated a seriously ill man from the frontline area near Lyptsi village in the Kharkiv oblast, the Kharkiv regional police reported.

According to the police, his wife told them he was in critical condition and needed immediate medical help. Because of the constant threat of Russian attacks, they couldn’t use regular transport to evacuate.

Ukrainian soldiers used a ground drone to evacuate the man. Once he was safe, medics provided him with medical aid, the police added.

Lyptsi is located six miles from the border with Russia and 12 miles north of Kharkiv. Russia wants to reoccupy this part of the region for the second time so that the range of its tube artillery could reach Kharkiv.

Kharkiv regional emergency service also reported about 566 evacuated civilians from the frontline area in the Kharkiv oblast over the last week. Among those evacuated are 36 children and 48 people with disabilities.
