UKRAINE, Feb 29 — The Ukrainian Defence Forces have shot down 345 Russian warplanes and 325 helicopters since the beginning of the Russian full-scale invasion of Ukraine, according to an infographic published by UA War Infographics.
The Ukrainian military shot down three more Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers in the Avdiivka and Mariupol directions over the past day on February 29. In total, Ukrainian troops have shot down five Su-34 aircraft this week.
As reported, on February 23, the Ukrainian Air Force destroyed an A-50 long-range radar detection and control aircraft. On February 14, they destroyed an A-50 and an IL-22 air command post.
At the same time, the Russian forces continue to hit the frontline and border areas with airstrikes. On February 28, the Russian troops used aerial bombs to shell Kupiansk and Velykyi Burluk in the Kupiansk district. The shelling killed four people and injured six. The Russians attacked at least six cities and villages in the Kharkiv Oblast with airstrikes over the past day.
