UKRAINE, Jun. 22 — Medics transported Oleksandra Shchebilova, a Kharkiv emergency service worker, who lost her arm during a Russian attack, to Superhumans prosthetics center in Lviv, said the State Emergency Service.
On Jun. 15, Russian forces attacked the industrial area in the Kholodnohirskyi district of Kharkiv twice. The first attack caused a fire in civilian business territory.
A few hours later, while a group of rescue workers was extinguishing the fire, the Russians launched a second missile strike, killing four emergency workers and one employee of the Kharkiv City Council. The attack injured nine people, including Oleksandra.
At the Superhumans Center, Oleksandra will receive free medical treatment and prosthetics and undergo rehabilitation.
The State Emergency Service noted that rescuers who are injured while doing their jobs receive the necessary medical and financial support, as well as state-provided benefits.
On Jun. 19, the State Emergency Service said that one of the injured rescuers died in the hospital because of injuries after the attack.
