UKRAINE, Jun. 5 — In the night, the Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces attacked five ships in ports of Russian-occupied Mariupol, Berdiansk, and the nearest settlement, said Robert Madyar Brovdi, the commander of the 414th Marine Strike UAV Battalion.
According to Madyar, Russians painted over the ships’ names and turned off their radars to steal Ukrainian grain and transport military supplies.
He noted that even such measures to hide the movement of ships “do not ensure the long-term survival of such targets or the regularity of shipments.”
Ukrainian drones hit one ship in Berdiansk in the Zaporizhzhia oblast, three ships in Yalta settlement in the Donetsk oblast, and two ships in Mariupol in the Donetsk oblast.
Earlier, Ukrainian drones attacked the large oil terminal in Russia’s St. Petersburg, located 1,100 kilometers (683 miles) from the Ukrainian border.
