UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Jul 16 — The Russian army launched 20 air strikes, using 36 glide bombs (KABs), at Ukrainian positions in the Kharkiv region near Vovchansk, Lyptsi, Veterynarne, Borshchova, Hlyboke, Vesele, and Bilyi Kolodiaz, reported “Kharkiv” group of forces.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

According to the “Kharkiv” group of forces, Russia also carried out 37 strikes with kamikaze drones and fired 379 times at the Ukrainian positions.

The Russian army lost 114 people over the past day. They also lost two armored personnel carriers, seven artillery systems, four vehicles, three units of special equipment, and 27 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV).

The Ukrainian army also destroyed 58 Russian shelters, one launching position for UAVs, and one storage point for ammunition.

The General Staff reported that in the Kharkiv direction, there were 18 combat clashes, and in the Kupiansk direction, the Russian army attacked Ukrainian positions five times over the past day.
