UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Oct. 1 — Ukrainian electronic warfare systems detect about 350-400 Russian first-person view (FPV) drones with radio control per day in the northern part of the Kharkiv oblast, Ruslana Bohdan, the press officer of the 57th Motorized Brigade, told Army TV.
According to Bohdan, apart from radio-controlled FPVs, Russians use Lancet, Molniya, and optic-fiber FPVs to attack Ukrainian positions in this area.
Bohdan also said that the Russian Molniya drone operators are highly trained: “They know that the drone is being targeted and perform various maneuvers to avoid interception. We believe that human operators make these maneuvers.”
Bohdan added that Russian troops can infiltrate areas where conditions make application of drones difficult, but Ukrainian strike and reconnaissance teams still destroy them quickly.
These Russian groups are not sabotage groups. According to intelligence data, their mission is simply to reach a specific point and then move on to another. They are not tasked to capture anything or fight, the officer added.
Earlier, the Institute for the Study of War said that Russian forces conducted infiltration missions in Tokarivka and Hoptivka border villages north of Kharkiv.
