UKRAINE, KHARKIV, Jul. 28 — More than 70 ambulances in Kharkiv are equipped with electronic warfare (EW) systems to protect them from Russian attacks, Oleh Syniehubov, governor of the region, said.

EW systems create interference with radio signals, block signals used to control drones, and disorient other weapons. Syniehubov said that the threat of attacks by Russian FPV drones has now spread to Kharkiv itself, so the authorities’ main task is to equip 100% of ambulances with such systems.

Syniehubov said that about 90 ambulances go on duty every day. Of these, about 50 ambulances go to dangerous areas, including the northern part of Kharkiv oblast and the Vovchansk and Kupiansk districts.

As of late March, more than 15 ambulances had already been equipped with EW systems.

Since 2022, Russian forces have destroyed 328 ambulances in Ukraine.
