UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, Aug 8 — Yesterday, Russian troops attacked the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces near Sotnytskyi Kozachok in the Kharkiv region, reported the “Kharkiv” group of forces.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

According to the military, in Vovchansk, the Russians regrouped their assault groups, provided logistical support, and focused on holding the lines of occupied territories.

In addition, the Russian army fired on Vovchanski Khutory with multiple rocket launchers from the Belgorod region (Russia) and used a heavy flamethrower system TOS-1A to attack Vovchansk.

According to the “Kharkiv” group of forces near Hlyboke, the Russians are preparing for offensive actions and building up their forward positions with troops. They did not use tactical aviation in the Kharkiv direction yesterday.

Also, on August 7, the Russian army carried out 33 kamikaze strikes with drones and fired 503 times at the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
