UKRAINE, KHARKIV OBLAST, June 12 — Russian troops lost 86 people in the Kupiansk direction over the past day. The combat is ongoing near Miasozharivka, reported the General Staff in its morning briefing.

On May 10, Russia launched a new ground offensive north and northeast of the Kharkiv region, in the Vovchansk and Lyptsi directions. Russia’s primary goal in a new offensive was to stretch Ukrainian troops and resources and force Ukraine to redistribute manpower and military equipment along the frontline, pulling forces away from Chasiv Yar and Kupiansk.

As the General Staff informs, the Russian military failed an attempt to attack Ukrainian forces near Petropavlivka in the Kupiansk direction. Ukrainian troops destroyed seven Russian army’s vehicles and damaged four cannons and three vehicles. Combat clashes are ongoing near Berestove.

In the Kharkiv direction, the General Staff reports, the Russian military attacked the positions of the Ukrainian army five times near Lyptsi and Vovchansk. Ukrainian forces repelled all attacks, and the situation is under control. Combat in Vovchansk continues since the beginning of the day.

In total, there were about 90 combat engagements along the frontline during the past day. The Russian army launched three missiles and 55 airstrikes on the territory of Ukraine, using 91 guided bombs (KABs). They also fired about 2,800 times at the positions of Ukrainian troops using various types of weapons.
